  1. Do I need an Internet connection to use IBUK Libra?

    Yes, an Internet connection is necessary for using the IBUK Libra platform.

  2. Do I always have to log in to myIBUK to read a book?

    No. If a user only wants to browse a book, he or she can quickly preview the full text without logging in. To work with a text (notes, text marking, etc.) it is necessary to log in to myIBUK.

  3. Is it possible to access IBUK Libra from home?

    Yes. Books purchased by a given institution can also be read on the user’s own computer (laptop or tablet) after logging into the institution's network. If the institution does not have its own network authorization system, access is possible by means of PIN codes which can be requested from the institution. The PIN code links an individual account to the resources purchased by the institution.

  4. How do I link my PIN code to myIBUK account?

    • create a myIBUK account and log in to the website
    • from the options (upper right corner) select “My libraries”
    • press the “+ ADD A PIN CODE” button
    • enter the code you received
    • press “+ ADD”

    The PIN code should only be linked to myIBUK only once.

  5. Can IBUK Libra be used on mobile devices?

    Yes, IBUK Libra is suitable for use also on mobile devices with screen size of at least 5”. The way IBUK Libra can be used on mobile devices depends on the network authorization method in force at the institution:

    • in the case of institutions that use user verification via proxy, VPN, HAN, etc. you should log in to the network via the method appropriate for the institution (logging in to remote resources) and then go to libra.ibuk.pl;
    • in the case of institutions that use PIN codes, just go to libra.ibuk.pl in your browser window. The PIN code must first be linked to the myIBUK account.

  6. Is the list of titles closed? Will there be new publications?

    The list of IBUK Libra titles is not closed and will be systematically expanded. However, one should keep in mind that appearance of new books that are free to access access depends exclusively on the option purchased by the institution. You can always request that the institution purchase access to a publication.

  7. Is it possible to print and copy parts of books on IBUK Libra?

    This is not possible. These functionalities can be purchased along with access at ibuk.pl.

  8. What is the maximum number of books that a reader can add to his or her myIBUK virtual shelf?

    There is no limit.

  9. How many publications can a user view at once?

    One.

  10. Does IBUK Libra work in every web browser?

    The IBUK Libra catalogue available at libra.ibuk.pl works in any web browser. The browsers recommended for using the myIBUK reader are: Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

  11. Can I download the publication to a hard drive?

    No, the publications are available in the “cloud.”

  12. I am interested in accessing another book that has not been purchased by my library. How can I get access to this title?

    If you do not have access to the publication you want to read, you can request it directly from our website. Your request will be forwarded to the library, which will make the final decision on the purchase of the publication.

  13. What can I do if a book won't open in myIBUK reader?

    If you have access to a book and are unable to open it, you must clear your web browser data (Ctrl+Shift+Del). If the problem persists, please report it to the address given in the CONTACT tab.

  14. What should I do if I do not receive an email message confirming my intention to create an account after registration?

    Look for the message in the spam folder (junk mail). Alternatively, try to create an account again; if the situation occurs again, please contact us at pomoc@libra.ibuk.pl.

  15. How can I delete my account?

    If you want to delete your account, please contact customer service at pomoc@libra.ibuk.pl for assistance. IMPORTANT! Having an account is free of charge - no fees are charged to users.

  16. What should I do if I forget the password to my account?

    To reset your password, click on “retrieve data” when logging in and then enter the e-mail address for which you created your account. A message with a temporary password will be sent to that address. For security reasons, you should change your password after logging into the system.
